7-Months Old - 25ths!

Hard to believe that Jack turned 7 months today! I've been neglectful of the blog as we've been busy trying to teach Jack to be mobile, though we've been warned that we'll want to take it back once he succeeds. He does appear, though, to be closer to standing than crawling. On the other hand, the only thing that really seems to make him want to crawl is boy cat, who is both scared of and fasinated and enamored with the baby.

He's also taken a liking to standing with a bit of support under his arms or by the hands. He seems to really enjoy the new perspective standing provides to him. I have to admit that I feel both fear and anticipation at the thought of Jack becoming mobile. It will certainly mean baby proofing. I never realized how many electronic wires and plugs we have, just waiting for little fingers to explore. We also have lots of old bookcases that rock a bit. We'll have to ensure those are bolted to wall at some point. So much to do!

Jack is also old enough to supplement his diet of breast milk with purees. We've yet to move on to anything complicated, but so far he's enjoyed mixed vegetables and squash the most. Surprisingly, he's not totally sold on the fruits. Which is surprising since they're sweeter.
