Mother's Day

Yesterday was our first Mother's Day, and we celebrated by visiting Grandmum and Grandaddy Bristol in Wrentham. Grandmum managed to snag an amazing swing with a mobile at a charity sale, and Jack loved it. His neck control has greatly improved and he can now hold it up for long periods of time, and look up at the mobile above the swing. And it was fascinating to him!

Apparently Jack sent Jeff to pick out some Mother's Day presents, and I received, among other things, chew beads (which are amazing beaded necklaces that double as teething beads) and a sweet memory book that I can give to Jack when he gets older. Each page includes space for a specific memory, such as favorite teacher, house I grew up in, favorite pet, and experiences as a mother. I'm looking forward to getting one for Jeff on Father's Day!

After a lifetime of celebrating my own mother, it was slightly surreal to be able to celebrate as a mother myself. I feel very blessed and lucky to have such an amazing son, and I'm looking forward to many years of continuing to honor both my own wonderful mother and my amazingly adorable son.
